What we are doing

We have commissioned several organisations to undertake work with Black and Minority Ethnic Communities who can experience a double stigma of mental illness.

Open Secrets film

Shift has commissioned the production company Azko Films and made a short film called 'Open Secrets' about shame, mental illness and a middle class Asian family. The film stars Saeed Jaffrey and Valmike Rampersad.

Watch the Open Secrets trailer here.

We are currently piloting the film with Community Development Workers to explore ways of using it to maximum effect.

Black and White photographic exhibition

Newcastle and Gateshead Art Studio's 'Black and White' photographic exhibition takes a look at the area's diverse community. The photos have been produced by members of a community group in Newcastle.
